This is Not Goodbye

Hello friends! Happy New Year. It’s crazy to think that it’s 2017 and I started this blog when I was just a freshman in college four years ago!

Since then, I’ve eaten so much great food, taken lots of amazing trips, and even got to live in New York City for a year. It’s been a culinary education of sorts. Blogging about food informs my writing in really interesting ways.

My New Years’ Resolution is about executing ideas over the course of the year, and the first one is a new food blog. I’ll still be reviewing restaurants and writing about food, travel and culture. But I’m also writing from a new point of view: I’m a gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo food critic.

Actually, I’ve been following this diet for almost a year. You can laugh, but I started it under the guidance of a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (a.k.a. Hipster Capitol USA, cool before Portland was Portland) while I was living in New York. Now, I’m ready to take my food blogging to a more authentic level based on the changes I’ve chosen to stick with.

This means that Eat Sleep Eat isn’t my main project anymore. 😦 I can’t write about eating passionately and vicariously, as I love to say, when I can’t eat some of the major food groups. Some people won’t be interested in reading what I have to say now, and that’s ok. There aren’t any pizzas or buttery croissants where I’m going.

I’m going to leave this site up because I love the memories (and the name of the blog, I won’t lie), but if you’d like to continue following my writing, you can find me at my new blog: Bread nor Butter. I wouldn’t hate it if you followed me on Instagram, either.

I’ve loved building a community of interested readers, and if you’re curious about eating less sugar in 2017, trying a gluten-free lifestyle, or if you’re just in it for the dairy-free cupcakes, I’ll see you at breadnorbutter.com.

Warmly,

Mallory
